Look at this sweet girl!

The stray and abandoned dogs around here are like Mexico!

So we had to drive out of town to drop off a check and this little girl is just jogging down the road! No tags. No collar. Nothing!

Of course we stopped because she is in the middle of the road. I call her over and she reluctantly comes over and I give her the rest of the water from my water bottle and a granola bar.

Maybe she belongs to someone? She was very sweet, seemed to know the sit command and was not too skinny.

Anyway, I still asked the boss of we could keep her!  He said no. :(

Come on! That would only make 6 dogs!

Good morning sunshine!

I love how the sun flowers close up at night and open themselves up to the sun in the day light. Just a great reminder about how to live... Wide open and receiving the light!

Softball

Katie's softball team did great! They went to the tournament and did really well, however did not place in the top 3. It was neat to see them all come together as a team and cheer for each other.

Pulling teeth

On Sunday we drove down to Alamo, a nothing little town north of Vegas for my Brother in law's graduation from Rapport Leadership training. Katie complained the whole 5 hour trip about her bottom eye tooth hurting because it was pretty loose. And, obviously, would not let me take her picture.
When we got there, she finally let Scott pull it in the parking lot before we went in.
My sister was going to surprise Richard so after Kate finished swishing and spitting blood in the parking lot, she said, "that one's for aunt JJ!"

Betty, Betty, Betty!

Oh yes... That is my sweet girl with her latest capture and kill- a young turkey.

I was sitting on the deck enjoying a wonderful rum and coke when I saw her come running out from around the shed with something floppy hanging from her mouth.

After gnawing on it for quite some time, she decided she wanted to come up and hang with the rest of us. So there she is... Hanging with her turkey and fussing about any kitten that might come close.
