This is actually tile. And it is now finished. I love this flooring!
We did spend some time on Monday figuring out the best way to design the flooring in the basement. It's a big space! And Scott and I did not want to carpet the whole thing. That just does not make sense. Certainly, the bedrooms will be carpeted. But the question really was what else to carpet.
We are putting a bar area down there and thought that should be tiled. So will use the same tile that we used in the bathroom. There will also be a wood burning stove down there and that should really sit on tile as well. But then we were a little perplexed of how it should all layout and if those 2 separate areas should connect. We also wanted tile in front of the doors for snow and mud.
Our final decision was too actually connect it all. It's kind of hard to explain without having a picture. The tile will go under the wood burning stove area, turn and go in front of the doors that lead towards the bar area. We also decided at some point we will get a pool table and that area should be tiled as well. So there is a little area in the far end of the room that we will be tiled as well. Plus, this tile looks like a hardwood floor so we really like it. And it is way more durable.
