I have to admit that I did win the best mother award on this one! I am not sure if I was having a moment of craziness in my brain, but decided that I was too cheap to spend the $14.99 on the kit. So, we made our gingerbread houses from scratch. I had no idea!
Everyone was really excited for the decorating. However, there is a ton of work that goes into making gingerbread beforehand which I was not really aware of. Literally, it took hours! And then you have to measure everything out. I would get to thinking I was finished and then realize I forgot to make chimneys or that one house did not have a roof. Plus, Katie had two friends over so I was making 5 of them!
The end result was pretty fantastic, but I did sacrifice pretty much the whole Saturday.
Of course, they could not wait to break them apart and eat them. Well, just Ben and Hunter. Katie will probably have hers until she gets married!
