The best cowshit stomping team EVER!!

The team

Greg and I were an awesome team! We were gathering up the cows and bring them down to the alley. So, you have to get into the corral with about 50 to 75 cows all wide eyed looking at you wondering what the heck is going on.  Then cut some out of the group and push them into the opening run that leads to the alley. We both did a lot of yelling. Actually, my throat is sore this morning. Sometimes the cows listen and sometimes not. We both got splattered a few times with poop. But after it was all said and done, we were a really great team!

Bribery

Working hard or hardly working?

Actually just taking a break.

Preg check day has arrived

Once a year, about this time, all the cows have to go through and get checked to see if they are pregnant. If they are, we keep them and feed them all winter. If they are not, we sell them. No use feeding an open cow all winter long for no profit.  It's a long day and it is very loud with the cows. It is also loud from the people working the cows and them yelling to get them moving. Ben has a great ranch voice and he stands along the side of the gate and yells at them to get moving and the cows listen.

Our very own street sign

And smiles

Hugging

Normally, you do not hug a horse while someone is cleaning out its feet, but Greg is full of a lot of love so there were hugs!

Uncle Greggie has arrived

First things first. We had to move Snorty over to the other side where all the cows are because of all the snow. This way he can have fresh water and lots of hay.  And Greg was there to help. He commented how he had never been that close to a horse before.

Can u see the glowing eyes?

Sweetheart made herself comfortable on the windowsill in the bedroom. The most spoiled cat ever! She acts like she runs the place. But better she sits on the windowsill then on the bed! I thought that was a great picture of the view as well.

PLEASE!!!!!

No more stuffed animals! EVER!

Look at that great use of counting fingers

Short lived

Everyone did get a chance to touch it. And then without warning, it just flew off.

Enjoyed by all

Multiple uses for the salad spinner

A little close

Yes, for this picture I did have a vision momentarily of the bird coming to and attacking my face! :)

Slam!

This little guy slammed into the window and fell on the deck and just sat there.  As many cats that are around, we knew that if we did not rescue it, it would be dinner.

And this is how we do it

This is how we bring in kindling! Sometimes it is just too much to carry in our arms and we have to think creatively. Benjamin is always a great helper.

Just a herd of elk passing by this morn

The most spoiled cat in the world

I am not sure what Sweetheart will do while we are away for Christmas. She has been pretty spoiled these last few weeks. We could hardly help ourselves though. When we had not seen her for so long, and then she just showed up, we could hardly help but bring her in.

Just can't keep this boy outta the mud

Elk

The elk just showed up one day and have been having around every since. We even decided to open the gates for them! It's pretty amazing to see a herd of 150+ elk just grazing out in your field!!!!
