Up Log Canyon

The day after my birthday

So, it was a good thing my birthday was when it was! We woke up to a blizzard! I do have to admit it was a bit like camping. You know that feeling when the air is so cold and you put your cold clothes on and it takes quite a long time to get the chill out? That was this morning! But, we have had a fire going all day and it's been wonderful.

Going after it

Snowball fight!

The whole time we were in the car all Hunter wanted to do was get out and throw a snowball at dad. So, when there was a good pull off, that is exactly what we did! I was laughing so hard as Scott whipped me in the back of the head with a snowball--- I just about wet my pants!

Cold, but amazing

The best birthday lunch ever

And yes, I did treat myself to the $16 per glass of red wine.
Two, in fact!
So I was feeling pretty rosey cheeked and happy on my birthday!

Best known for their fish tacos!

Over the bridge to lunch we go

At Sundance

It really was quite spectacular

Waterfall along the way

Hunter shouted it out first when he saw the waterfall. So we stopped and took a few pictures. We could not stay out long because it was freezing cold! We did not really dress accordingly, because we did not realize it would be so cold up there!

Cute kids

Surprisingly quite cold!

Cool dudes

Along the way

We passed this stream along the way. Everybody got a picture by it. And no, I am NOT going to give Ben a haircut!

My 38th birthday

So we made a new rule at our house, that no one has to work or go to school on their birthday and they can pick what they want to do.

So my choice was to go to Sundance and it was awesome! The drive was absolutely beautiful. This is a picture of the mountains on the way.

The set up

That is kind of a good picture of what the family room looks like.

I got in trouble for this

Scott wants all the dogs to be outside dogs. I have a hard time with that because I like knowing there is a dog in the house in case the infamous crazy mountain man comes in in the middle of the night! So every once in awhile I still sneak them inside and give them a bone!

My first Arbonne check

Okay, so I will admit it was not a lot, but twice as much as I was expecting! Either way, it was exciting!

Sheep

I could not figure out why the dogs would not stop barking. Then I looked out the window and could see the 2000 sheep coming down Log Canyon. They had been up there through the summer and were bringing them down for the winter. That white blob in the picture is them.

I swear I saw a couple of stragglers behind.

Lovely

The first of many

Double checking

It was not really that cold, but we wanted to check and see how the fireplace worked.

The whole first week of living in the new house has been like walking around in a dream. Finally the day has come and we can relax into our new life here in Utah.

I will always have a gratitude for the cabin and all the wonderful memories that we made there and all the good times that we have had, however, it was time to move on.

The new house is incredible! And I cannot even explain how wonderful it feels to not be surrounded by brown paneling and foggy old windows! And all the while going through it all, I would not admit how hard it has been, I can say now in retrospect that the last year or so has been quite challenging.

September 24th

Snow on Mount Nebo! Both Scott and I think we will get slammed with snow this winter. And although that might be the case, we are both pretty excited about it.

Back to real life

We got occupancy last week and moved in over the weekend. We had bought a new TV and were not quite sure where to put it because we do not have the basement finished. So, we put it in the family room and I have to admit -it is totally awesome! I forgot how great watching TV on a screen that is bigger than 7 inches can be!

I live here too !

You know when you are the only person taking the pictures it seems like you are never in any of them. Just wanted everyone to know that I am alive and well!
